NEIL STAVELY
Color-Black & Gray-Illustrative
Neil Stavely apprenticed as a tattooer in the late 90’s in Memphis Tennessee while also earning his BFA in painting. Relocating to Virginia in the early 2000’s,
Neil has been tattooing in the area since 2005.
As a tattooer Neil prioritizes being stylistically well rounded, an attentiveness to the clients particular aesthetics and a focus on results which will stand the test of time. Having worked for years in busy walk-in environments he now prefers to work by appointment allowing for a more thoughtful approach to the tattoo.
Neil also works as a printmaker, illustrator and general maker of art and is well known for his work in the area. Among other places his work can be seen in the collection of the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, on permanent display at the Winchester Book Gallery, at the grocery on a potato chip bag, in your record collection or at Tin Top Art & Handmade (his beautiful wife Kerry’s shop on Winchester’s old town pedestrian mall).
Big or small, a whim or a memorial, plain or fancy, Neil will be happy to work with you.
